2019 IFJM Celebration IFJM has been suspended indefinitely. Please read the pinned post about this below.
Participants who Post Their Journals A list of 2018 participants who are posting their fake journals this year will appear near the top of the right side bar of this blog around April 6. Lists of participants who posted their pages in 2010 through 2017 appear lower in the same column. Please pay them a visit and check out their fake journals.
View a Couple of Roz's Past Fake Journals Roz's 2009 fake journal takes place in an alternate Twin Cites, where disease has killed the human and bird populations. (It ends up being an upbeat tale of friendship.) Watch a video flip through of Roz's 2009 fake journal here.
The video flip-through is about 8 minutes long. If you've seen enough of the journal by reading my posts and seeing the scans on this blog, and viewing the physical journal doesn't matter to you, I encourage you to still check out the final few minutes (end of the flip through and the credits) to learn a little more about my character.
I'd promised my written wrap up today as well, however, I'm between meetings and will have to post that at another time. Please check back to learn what this fake journal month meant to me.
Roz, it was so wonderful to view the flip-through of your journal. It's such a different experience from seeing the pages posted individually. What struck me was not only the warmth of the colors, but the satisfying compositional balance. It's a real visual treat. Thank you!
Michelle, yep, they are all the same person so they all go. It's sad, but for me it's funny and liberating for a host of reasons. It's part of how I look at the world.
Jamie, thanks. I like to see the flip throughs because it's a unit and gives a sense of flow. I think your comment about color is very interesting because I actually used a different color palette for Tyra's work than in my work. A lot of yellow and orange. Thanks for reading. And watching.
To learn more read "What Is IFJM?" Follow the other explanatory links listed in the introduction to this blog. See the right-side bar column for this year's contest guidelines. Also in the side bar column find lists of participants who posted their fake journals and browse through their adventures. Use this blog's category cloud to find "tips." Browse the blog to learn about fake journaling—but also to learn about how you can improve and deepen your own journaling habit. Life's so short, why live only one?
This year, 2018, we will be having a contest. This will happen sometime after April ends. It will be a quiz, the questions and scope are yet to be determined. Please follow the blog for more details when known. (There is a fun, small, but extremely useful prize.)

Love the journal, and love learning the fate of its author!
Great ending! I suppose that Esther and Hydra are then no longer "alive" either. How sad.

Thank you for the update on Tyra! Such a fitting end! And I thought PB60 was hard to get!
